Born in 1980 in Istanbul, Bilal Tek is originally from Samsun. After completing his primary and secondary education in Istanbul, Bilal Tek graduated from Istanbul University in 2003 from the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Between 2002 and 2004, Tek worked as an engineer in the automotive sector, specifically in production and quality processes.

Bilal Tek started his career at Turkish Airlines in 2004 as an Engineer in the Flight Safety and Quality Assurance Directorate, known by that name at the time. During his tenure as an engineer, he participated in improvement projects as a team member and team leader, focusing on management systems and audit processes. From 2010 to 2016, he served as the Quality and Development Manager within Turkish Airlines. During this period, Tek provided leadership in the design and implementation of industry-independent and aviation-specific management systems and models at Turkish Airlines.

Tek was appointed as the Quality Assurance Manager in October 2016 and continues to serve in that position.

From 2019 to 2023, Bilal Tek contributed to safety and quality developments as a member of the board at Turkish Airlines Flight Academy (TAFA).

Bilal Tek was appointed member of the board at Turkish Technic in July 2023.

He is married with one child.
